linx to stuff wot snorkel digs!

here's a bunch of linx to sites we either find useful, tre funky or just plain hilarious. The "NEW!" indicates the link's been there less than a month, and if any of these linx are duds, let us know here.

BEER
coopers: apart from VB and a whole bunch of german "40%-alcohol-kill-your-brain" type beers , coopers is just about the best damn beer in the universe ... and we're not just saying that cos we're angling for a free carton of pale ale (although donations are gratefully accepted)

MUSIC INFO
buzz magazine: the buzz have been kind to us over the years, and they cover the melbourne peninsula and the much-overlooked gippsland region, which is, of course, where snorkel hails from!
freeza: these folks have got a cool little spot to "sign up" and announce your availability for all-age gigs, amongst other things.
fruitbowl: the spot for info on all-age gigs in melbourne - they've even got a feature on mullet hair cuts, so they get our vote!
hEARd magazine: an excellent "on-line only" mag with linx to most ausbands, heaps of reviews - everything you'd expect from a site with no ulterior motives! terry is currently working on a hEARd compilation CD, featuring us ... 2 thumbs up!
the goss: run by some good ol' boys from snorkel's home zone - these folks put 100% into what they do, so pay yer respects thar hillbilly.
melband: this is the most comprehensive listing of melbourne bands I've come across - tons of useful info for bands, chances to get into band comps, all kinds of stuff. A labour of love, if ever I saw one!
triple r: a great little site, featuring all that's going down at rriple r's fitzroy studios. not many stations play bands you can actually go out and see at your local, so pay 'em a visit and dial 'em up on your FM band.
3pbs: even more alternative, baby - a great station, devoted to supporting the melbourne scene - so tune in, groovers!

WEIRDFISH
bert is evil: you'll never look at sesame street the same way again.
the darwin awards - the official site: we've been getting mileage out of this for year's in our mailout newsletter "el snorko" - now it's even been featured on good news week, so it's not so underground ... but still hilarious in a morbid, unfortunate kinda way
monty python: 30 years later and still bloody silly - if you've ever felt a compulsion to do a silly walk, this is your site
platinum grit: a new, improved, double flavour page devoted to one of the best auscomics ever! this site gives you a look at the covers, the storylines, the characters - and if you want more than that, go and buy the bloody thing!
spinal tap: as their promo poster said ... "legenbs"
weird al yankovic: if you don't love this guy, you've had your sense of humour amputated somewhere along the way. as daggy as it is, his movie "vidiot from UHF" still cracks us up - the "supplies" cupboard gag will live forever.
